Happy 16th Birthday

Two and a half years ago, she looked like this.
On Thursday morning, her smile was extra big because later that day she would....
Look like this...
The next day, she looked like this....
Another year of fabulous for my beautiful "sweet sixteen" year old girl...
She wanted chocolate marshmallow fondant for her cake.  It tastes like a tootsie roll, in case you are wondering.  (We had a little boo-boo in that one spot, which I asked her to cover up with a flower, and she... didn't.)

She's easy to buy for.  Money and jewelry.
Pay no attention to the backside of the cake which is blank.  She was tired of decorating.

She's always such a good sport to let Britnee help blow out the candles....
And a birthday wouldn't be complete around here without a bunch of balloons from Aunt Wendy.
Now it's time to polish the shotgun - she has her first date on Monday.

I feel spoiled to be blessed with such a gorgeous young lady as my daughter.  She is seriously the most FUN teenager I have ever met.  Ask anyone.

We love you, Air-bear!  Happy Birthday, sweetie girl.

Miscellaneous March

Beyond taking a picture a day, which when life gets chaotic, I am not very good at...
other things have happened at our house.

Ishee was clearly under the weather for a couple of days.
Otherwise, she'd never take a nap in the middle of the day.
We had the relief society birthday party and the
ward clerk asked me to take a few pictures for the ward history. .
We had a fabulous sister in our ward talk about getting to know each other on a personal level.
Cody's grandpa turned 85 so we all went down to Pocatello for dinner with the
extended family at Mama Inez, and then back to grandma's house for
cake and icecream.

The girls were being super silly one night.
It was fun to just laugh and laugh at them.
Justin turned 18!  We didn't do anything special, because we are boring like that.
I made a coconut cake with salted caramel frosting and
even found the candles that were on his cake when he turned
one and eight.   We had hamburgers at the inlaws house, cake and icecream,
he got 18 different candybars and balloons from his aunt Wendy and lots of money
then we went home and watched "Despicable Me" with his girlfriend.

Air-bear was in a play at school.  We've already forgotten the name of it.
The spotlight broke right before it started, and while it wasn't
necessarily needed, it would have made for better pictures.
She played the loud, opinionated, smart-alek.
In other words, she was playing herself.  haha.

Photostory Friday - One year older and wiser too?

The super cute husband decided it was time to finally accept the fact that he is turning, well, older.
Like he had a choice.

He didn't want any big celebrations

Or parties

And I obliged.

Instead, we entertained the waitress at Texas Roadhouse
And went to the inlaws house for presents and caramel flan my sister in law bought off some Mexican lady she works with and six kinds of Dreyers icecream.

Complete with 2 extra candles. Because we can't count. I blame the first grader.

We had the party at the inlaws because my husband got a wild hair and moved all the appliances into the dining room.
Right after he gave me permission to buy him tile to redo the floor.

Because he's a glutton for punishment.

As if turning, well, older wasn't punishment enough already. Right?

Friday afternoon.
Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon.
Monday night.

We did just enough to get the appliances out of the dining room.
The goal is to finish this weekend.

With or without Toby's help.

And while he tiled the floor...

The girls played in the irrigation water and caught a fish.

I suggested we let Toby have it.

They agreed.

Me and my brilliant ideas.

Ishee eventually flushed it. The Ish drew up some Soduku puzzles and left them by the front door....

Just in case her dad or grandpa got tired of tiling and wanted something else to do.

My 16 year old son did not go to the homecoming dance.

Just the pathetic game.

Which we lost.

Of course.

We made him go just to pick up his sister and her friend. I doubt he would have gone otherwise.

He's so anti-social, I'm surprised the kids at school had the guts to even paint this on my his truck!

And now, a personal note for my sister....

The boy told me you gave him permission to run over my tree. HA!

Don't you know I "want" a whole forest of Quaking Aspens in my yard?

Anything to block out the view of the house across the street.

The one where they brought in semi truckload after semi truckload of nasty potato dirt.

Nice.

I'm told he's been sent a letter for violating every smell ordinance known to mankind. Plow under the stinky dirt or else. Either that, or the county was just telling my mother in law that to shut her up. It could happen.

Please comply, Mr. Neighbor dude. Don't make us hate you any more than we already do. My aspens aren't going to grow THAT fast! And P.S.... Happy Birthday super cute husband... you look even better than the day I married you. Thanks for being my husband.
