According to {me}

In the world according to me, 

the coolest new thing ever is personalized alphabet photography.  

I discovered it on Pinterest and fell in love instantly 

and I just had to make one for my sister in law and mother in law for Christmas.  

 They loved them.

I do intend to make one for myself, too, 

but I want to take my own alphabet pictures, 

(more like these)

because I'm stubborn like that,

so it will probably take me the rest of my life to do it.

At least I have a goal.

I downloaded them and did my own editing in Photoshop.

The hardest part was finding the perfect frames. 

And deciding which letters to use.

So where have I been? 

Working three days a week. 

Trying to catch up on life the other four days.

Zumba!

Relief Society meetings.

Relief Society visits.

Doing other Relief Society stuff.

Vegetating.

Not taking pictures.

Of anything.

Seriously. 

The memory card is empty

and has been for 16 days.

BUT...

A couple of things I have been working on...

Christmas gifts for the sisters in the ward. 

Somehow word got out to the president that I was creative and crafty

(so not true)

and she told me what she wanted and I went to work.

Here it is:

Not sharing until after they are given out to the sisters in a few weeks.

It was SO FUN to get back into digital scrapbooking 

and while I was in the shower this morning,

I came up with an idea for mom for Christmas. 

I took the shortest shower ever 

(for a day off anyway)

and got right to work.

Every year for the past, I don't know how many years, 

I have made my mom a birthday calendar and every year I spend hours

collecting pictures, 

photoshopping pictures,

and making sure I have all 106 family members birthdays correct.

(there is always a couple that are wrong every stinking year!).

Not to mention putting the calendar together, printing, getting it bound.

It's worth the time and effort,

but...

I don't want to. 

So this year, I'm making mom a book with everyone's birthday in it.

This way, we'll just be able to add to it instead of starting completely over.

Pages still have to be made, and I'm sure there will be seven trips to the copy store for 

prints and binding and 

general screw ups, 

but, it's something new, and therefore,

I'm excited!

Maybe I am crafty and creative.

Getting my craft on...

This weekend called for a new wreath on the front door... I decoupaged some cute scrapbook paper on to a 3-D star, added some blue daisies, a ribbon, and voila... there are officially stars everywhere at my house.

Where there are not stars, there are daisies. I was visiting teaching and one of my ladies had the cutest pillows on her couch and of course, I had to comment and she said, oh, my friend so and so made it for me. Well, if so and so can make one of these, SO CAN I!!!

A couple of bucks for some felt, leftover fabric from another project, an old pillow and about 30 minutes of my time, and voila... I have a daisy pillow on my bed now.

Woohoo!

Getting my Easter craft on...

Four skirts down - one for each of the girls (the pink ones), one for my super cute neighbor (the green one), and one for me (the red one)...

And when I came across these super cute little pins, I HAD to make one... or two. They are super easy and I think I want one in every color! Want to know how to make them? Check out "the crafting chicks". I used about 30" of ricrac vs. 10" so mine would be bigger.

(And thankfully I took a picture before I handed it over to Ashlee, since the cat somehow managed to pick up an orange marker and write on it, or so Ashlee claims.)

Mine will hopefully bring me luck on Sunday... since I have to play the piano in Sacrament Meeting and I'm dreading it so much. It's super cute, if nothing else (if you can get past all that hot glue... still working on that one).
