First of the month {round 2}

Last year, we did the view from the front porch first thing in the morning 

(unless I forgot, which did happen more than once).

This year, we're doing the view from the back of the house

in the evening. 

My hope was to capture the sunsets. 

However, the first day of the month so far

was spent eating prime rib 

and watching

"are you smarter than a fifth grader" 

at my inlaws house. 

It's still the first day.

Just earlier than I had intended.

What will the back yard hold for us this year?

Only time will tell.

{First of the Month} November

Gone is the warmth and sunshine.  Here to stay for probably the next seven or eight months are grey skies and cold.  

I'm not happy.

The flowers are dying off on the porch, but the tomatoes and peppers are still aplenty.  Fall has arrived... and one day soon we will have snow.  I am enjoying the green grass while I can!

First of the month... September

I can't believe it's the first of the month already. At the rate time is flying, we'll be singing "Let it snow" any day now. Seriously. It's Idaho. It's bound to snow any second.

My tomato plants are huge and filled with fruit.

The pepper plants are ready and waiting for the tomatoes to ripen.

The other flowers are slowly coming to the end of their season.

The willow and maple trees are nice and full and the grass is nice and green.

But, most importantly....

The vehicle leaving the driveway is my kids going off to school.

I'm really not sure how I feel about the fact that it is already the first of August. Summer is 1/3 of the way over.

School starts August 31st.

I'm not ready!!!

Changes this month:

• Rain and more rain.
• The flowers are huge. The tomatoes are huge. The peppers are huge. This has been the best summer ever for growing things on my front porch.

Progression of the front porch and yard throughout the year...
The tree's are getting thicker, the flowers are in bloom, and hopefully all my tomatoes and pepper plants survive living in pots on the front porch.

Not much has changed since last month... other than the temperature. Today when I took this picture, it was only about five below zero. At 8 a.m. Sweet.

First of the month...

I need some motivation this year for taking pictures... a 365 challenge was obviously out... I tried my hand at 52 photowalks and failed after about 36 (which wasn't too bad). I may have found one I can actually do... a first of the month challenge. Take a picture from the same place at the first of every month and see how it changes and evolves during the year.

Just one picture.

I can do that!

I knew right where I was going to start... right outside my front door. It would have been more interesting last year as there wasn't a house across the street, which of course came me something to whine and complain about most of last year. ;) So we'll just see what changes out the front door this year. You never know what's going to happen. In the meantime... it looks a lot like this...
