A brand new year...

Last night, the youth in our ward took the opportunity to watch the new LDS DVD of "a brand new year". It's in several parts and we were only able to watch two of them due to time contraints. The first part we watched was a talk given by Jeffrey R. Holland, not done behind a podium, but done very casually with him walking around the stage. Let me just say, that was the BEST talk I have heard in ages! AGES! If every teenager would take his talk to heart and live by his words, society today wouldn't know what hit it.

If you haven't seen it... watch it. It's available online at www.abrandnewyear.lds.org .

The rest of it was kind of a cheesy high school musical type production, which was done very well, but some of our kids were rolling their eyes going "thats the type of person I'm supposed to be? No thanks!" But, I loved it.

I asked my kid if she liked it and she said it was the most boring thing she'd ever seen in her life. I asked her what it was about and she said she didn't know because it was so boring she couldn't pay attention. Thus... I need to figure out how to liquify his talk and pour it straight into her brain and pray she can absorb some of it. Sure, the GA's aren't all that exciting when you are 12, but this is definitely one that every kid needs to hear. Seriously. It's that good! (and you can even download the songs in MP3 and ringtone format).
