It all started when we bought a new dry erase board to replace the one the boy had knocked on the floor one too many times and finally broke. The girls had to try out the new marker by writing "Justin is a chump" (Ishee's favorite term for her brother), which he promptly changed to "pro". It went from there until I could no longer find any room to use the board for it's intended reason... my grocery list.
The girls were bored over Thanksgiving break and decided to dress up like boys. It was scary how much they looked like their boy cousins!
Even scarier to see the girl without a gallon of mascara on!
We put up the Christmas tree after Thanksgiving. I didn't have the first row of branches on the tree when Toby dove right in and has barely left since. Part of my daily ritual has become to reattach the branches she's knocked out and count how many ornaments are on the floor at the end of the day. I think our highest count thus far, is eight. She's learned if she crawls on the counter first (a big no-no), she can climb higher into the tree. It's most entertaining when she dives out of the middle of the tree onto the floor with an ornament in her mouth. It's really going to be entertaining when I have to take the entire tree apart to replace the strands of lights she's ruined.
Lucky for the cat, Ishee thinks she is cute! Ishee gets out her silliest voice and says "you're so cute (or rude, depending on what the cat is doing). You're like an amazing hamster. You're covered in glitter, have you been eating unicorns again?" I always laugh at the way those two interact. The cat has been, by far, the best toy we've ever brought home from Walmart.
Other exciting updates:
The husband and I escaped to Utah for the night, keep reading the next few posts so you can see what I saw. We made it a short trip because Ishee is singing a song with a couple of other little girls for Relief Society today and I didn't want to miss it. It was just enough time, though, for me to get my Ikea and Tai Pan Trading fix.
The kids got their report cards, they all did fantastic, with mostly A's and no grades below a B. I'm so proud of how hard all three of them worked this first trimester, especially the girls, who both struggle in math and still pulled a B in their classes.
The boy is taking a dual enrollement English class this semester and is getting his first taste of what college is going to be like. He's reading "The Crucible" and he's not impressed. I'm pretty sure he won't be majoring in literature. Next weekend he is retaking the ACT's (scored a 28 on his first go round) and I'm hoping he remembers to bring home some college and scholarship applications soon.
I was thinking out loud on Facebook about whether or not I should invest in a Cricut or Silhouette machine. My awesome sister said she had an original Cricut machine with seven fun cartridges just taking up space in her sewing room, it was mine if I wanted it. It's not quite the machine I had hoped it would be, but the girls and I have had so much fun playing with it, and of course, Toby thinks it is the coolest thing ever!
That was November.

I studied literature, and the Crucible is the least favorite thing I have ever read. Shudder! The Giver is second, I do not understand why everyone loves it?
I love your front prch pictures. I live that you kept it going all year and cat wait or the new location.
It only gets worse for the boy. At least he is getting his english out of the way when he's with his peers and they can make it more interesting. It doesn't help either that his teacher has been sick at least half the class. The sub they had, well, she isn't all that great, pretty much left them alone to educate themselves. Wish we still had our cat the take down our ornaments, darn neighbors, want to shoot out their tires. The girls do look a lot like their cousins. scarey.
