This is my yard... in my dreams... HA!
- I love it when the youngest child comes to you after you are dressed and ready for work to inform you that she is too sick to go to school.
- I also love it when the youngest child announces she is feeling much better after you called in sick to work.
It's been a work from home kind of day. Instead of work work, I did housework. Something I've neglected since school started.
- Cleaned out and reorganized both pantries. Tossed out NINE completely empty boxes of cereal.
- Washed four loads of laundry. I'd do more but I ran out of hangers. That is a good sign, right?
- Baked two loaves of wheat bread. Tastes scrumptious with Ikea's Gooseberry jam!
- Baked a loaf of banana bread. That was lunch. Hey, it's fruit.
- Made a batch of homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. Okay, so the noodles weren't homeade but I did find them in the back of the pantry this morning. Score.
- Unloaded, reloaded and ran the dishwasher.
- Reorganized a couple of drawers and cleaned off counter tops for new stainless steel utensil holders from Ikea.
- Used an entire pumice stone on the kids toilet. Oh the things that get neglected while mom is off at work.
- Fell in love with pumice stone and want to use it on everything from now on. Yeah, so I've never used one before, what's the big deal?
Is there anything you can't use a pumice stone on?
- I also made my bed, folded all the extra blankets, emptied my suitcase finally, dusted every surface in the house, put a few TaiPan goodies away, played on facebook, cleaned off my google reader, updated my twitter, and texted my husband at least 500 times.
This is how some of our texts went today...
Me... there will be freshly baked bread for you when you get home.
Him: Kewl
Me: Trying to be productive today (insert picture of clean pantry)
Him: You are awesome. I hope you know that the things you do for me and our family are appreciated. You are the glue that holds us together.
Me: I know. Without me, you would not have a new Diet Dr. Pepper addiction either.
Him: LMAO! Diet Dr. Pepper on tap at Subway. What a treat.
Me: You funny. Only 900 more things to do and this place will sparkle. How about chicken soup for dinner?
Him: Sounds great. Can't wait to inspect your work.
Me: Cleaning kids bath. Where is hazmat suit again?
Him: You are really digging in. Are you okay?
Me: i'm good, but that was nasty. Their toilet is now clean. I love pumice stones.
Him: Use the pumice on toilet or your hands after done?
Me: No kidding! Ewwww. Used the entire stone.
Him: You are awesome.
Me: I feel like I need to be... whats the word after you exposed to deadly toxins and they clean you up? I need that.
Him: You need a footrub.
Me: That too.
Him: Stopping for gas and more Dr. Pepper, then headed home.
Me: Awesome! Wait. Where are you?
And this is why we have unlimited texting.
I wonder if I could convince the youngest to be sick again tomorrow so I can get a few more things done around here. I've forgotten what a clean house looks like... but I'm liking it so far.
Productivity. It's a good thing.

Um, Wow! Reading this might be the most productive thing I've done all day!
You make me tired.
ugh! i feel you. i've been working full time the last few weeks (i'm usually only part time) and our house is destroyed. took us 20 minutes to get chase ready for soccer practice. couldn't find a thing!
Seriously, I need to get off the computer, right now, and see if I can't get half of that list done.
I don't get the pumice stone on the toilet thing. You scrub porcelain with it? Wouldn't it scratch? I'm so confused.
