My kids, however, like to think they are brilliant little pranksters. They got their pranking capabilities from me. They have a lot to learn. The girls planned and plotted for a whole week as to what to do with their brother on April Fools day. They ultimately decided to short sheet his bed. It was something they learned from a commercial on Nickelodeon. Okay, whatever. It's April Fools day, so go for it.
They did.
When the boy came home from school, the first thing the middle child said was "I decided to do something nice and I made your bed today." Um, it's April Fools day, you just gave it away right there.
He didn't catch on.
He's slow like that.
When the girls went to bed, the youngest told him "be careful getting into your bed tonight." The middle child heard and screamed and bawled and carried on that she'd ruined the prank. Thus, the youngest child cried and cried because she had ruined the prank.
I reminded them that this was their 15 year old "life barely exists when I'm playing world of warcraft" brother, and there was no way he would catch on, especially if they just kept quiet about it.
This morning, the girls were all giddy to find out how it went and actually jumped right out of bed for a change. Um, what? We short sheeted your bed, ha ha ha ha ha ha. Um, you did?
If all their previous comments and quarrels hadn't tipped him off, the fact that they did it wrong to begin with was the real kicker.
Any good pranks happen at your house?

I am not a prankster either and thankfully, no one else in the house has decided they are or not.
For a brief, very brief minute, yesterday morning, I thought of doing something cute or pranky for them. Then I thought, "stupid, why introduce that world?" So it was a regular Wednesday. I like that better.
Oh man, my 14-yr-old is *constantly* trying to scare me. It stresses me out, because I have to be on my guard all the time. I really hate it, actually, but I try to be a good sport, because he thinks it's hilarious, and in his own way, he's showing he likes me (like when we were kids, and we bugged the people we had crushes on, lol). So I'd rather have him teasing me than ignoring me or actively disliking me. *sigh* I totally get it!
