Thanks for that....

So sibling #1 was in town and the family decided we all needed to go out to dinner. The best night available also corresponded with my birthday, so why not use that as an excuse, too? First, I decided upon the Olive Garden until dad talked me out of it with threats like... "but I don't like the Olive Garden", and "you know they will make me pick up the check and I'm not paying for us all to go to the Olive Garden" and "I'm going to McDonalds, so there!" So, I changed my marble and said fine, lets do Applebees. My husband took my to Olive Garden for lunch, anyway.

Of coarse, somebody in the crowd of 20+ family members pointed me out as the birthday girl and the waitress gave me a carmel apple "shooter", then the family is just darn lucky that I don't know who it was that broke into singing "Happy Birthday". I guess that was my torture for being born last?

To top it off... this was my present...

Aren't they the BEST FAMILY EVER?

Really... I had a good time... I wish I'd taken my camera... between four year old niece Aubrey's giggling and teasing of the boy, and 20 something year old Patricks constant chatter (seriously sister dear, does he talk this much ALL the time?) we were kept very entertained and even the husband, who never has a good time... had a good time. To top it off, my bestest sister in the whole world (obviously not the one who sent me this note written on a napkin... ha ha) said she'd help me with the Christmas party and wouldn't even tell anyone so I could take all the credit. Isn't she fantabulous? So, shhhh... don't tell anybody...

Before going out to dinner, I took the middle child down the street to neighbor Becky's house and got her hair cut. Now I am SO UTTERLY JEALOUS of her hair! Serious cuteness going on there.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Go ahead and tell me how she aged like 2 years with one haircut! I KNOW!

I told her I was going to get my hair cut the same way, which totally grossed her out, because EWWW, who wants the same haircut as MOM, especially when you are 12? Luckily... she goes to school all day and I can do whatever the heck I want while she's gone and there is very little she can do about it besides shave my head while I'm asleep... don't be giving her any ideas.

This is a seriously crazy, busy, insane "you may not hear from me again until next week" kind of week from here on out (are you glad?) ... but guess what? I'm going on a really sweet girls only getaway this weekend and I have a billion things to do before then. Are you jealous? (I know, highly doubtful, since most of ya'll are gonna be there....hee hee!)

Awe, happy birthday! I absolutely LOVE the family present about the Christmas party. So great. I'm the youngest too, but they don't pick on me like that because I live far away from everyone and they have pity on me.

Adore the haircut! That neighbor was a great find.

Have a fabulous trip this weekend, and happy birthday again!

Glad you had fun.
Write them a note that you are canceling Christmas this year. That is always what I do when they think I should be in charge :-) With such a huge family it is always tempting to cancel it anyway.

Love the haircut! Sounds like a great dinner even if you did have a dessert shooter and get to pick up the Christmas dooties (lol). I like Kailey's idea!

Happy bday again!

Aubrey loved being there! She still talks about it. She asked me if we could go over to your house and play! I'm afraid she'd never want to leave! :)

You're in charge of Christmas? Who are you, Kris Kringle? Fine, tell them you've decided that this year, everyone gives you presents. The end. Hey, they want you to plan it, they gotta suck it up and deal with whatever you decide!

P.S. the hair is CUTE!
