Book #19

Breaking Dawn
by Stephenie Meyer

(don't worry, there are no spoilers here)
I headed out bright and early (noon) on Saturday to find this book (with success) and vegetated for the next two days until I had it read (stopping only to pee, eat, sleep, and go to church).

Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful storyteller. She has such talent and what an imagination! I enjoyed the book VERY much. My only issues were that it wasn't quite what I expected... very sugary and flowery and violent in all the wrong places. It was hard to believe these were the same characters from the previous books, although, things had changed and the characters were bound to change as well.

I am glad that my daughter has shown no interest in reading the series, because she would be disappointed when I wouldn't let her read this one! Not for a good long time! A book for adults? Sure. A book for teens? Maybe. A book for pre-teens? Unlike her others... definitely not!

But, overall... I enjoyed it. It was a fabulous love story! Just... shocking... and a tad boring in places (I'm sorry, but I found the 100 pages SO boring... perhaps I was just tired from reading so much in such a short time, but it was all I could do to finish it) as she can really make a short story long. Did you read it? If so, what did you think of it?

I liked it. I also had a hard time feeling that they were the same characters from the other books as well. I thought maybe it was just me, and that I didn't go straight from reading the 3rd book to reading this one. I guess I'm not the only one! I'm all for Team Edward winning!

Wait, was that a spoiler from Kaya?

Gasp! It's ok, I wasn't planning on reading it. I got all the vampire I can stand in the first three.

I think you hit it right on the nail.

Hmmmm... maybe it's been too long since I read the 2nd one, but honestly, I loved it! I couldn't put it down! I dunno. Maybe I'm not going to be a book critic in this life!... along with a great many things that I DON'T have a talent for! :) ha ha. Anyways, I liked it. Oh, and sorry we've missed you when you've come to visit! I can't believe the house-building process!... it seems like I'm never home cuz of it!
