Book #3

Cold Train Coming

By Larry Barkdull

The true story goes that in 1936, an old sheepherder and his dog came down out of the mountains of Montana as the sheepherder was ill. He checked into the local hospital where he promptly died. His family requested that his body be shipped back east for buriel. As they loaded the body onto the train, the old sheep dog appeared and watched. For the next six years, this loyal dog, named Shep, waited at the train depot for his masters return, and would check out every passenger that got off every train that came through.

This tale is about a 13 year old boy named Ben Colby who is looking for three things... his somewhat dysfunctional family to be functional again, the love of his best friend Ellie, and the friendship of a loyal dog named Shep who lives at the train depot.

It's not the best book I ever read, but it's a cute story about loyalty and friendship.

I gotta know - how do you find the time to read the 15 books you've already read this year? I mean - I read enough books on everyone's blogs! LOL!
