{365} - August 19 - September 2

I admit, it was a pretty pathetic couple of weeks for taking pictures.
I was busy mourning the impending departure of my son for college.

August 19
The pictures I entered into the fair.
5 blues and 2 reds.
$19.
Not too shabby.
August 20
We played our last round of Balderdash for awhile.
I won.
Or maybe I lost.
I can't remember now.
August 21 & 22
This counts as two pictures.
I cried all day on the 22nd.
ALL day.
I couldn't bear to even pick up my camera.
Then he left at 6 a.m. on the 23rd for Boise.
Once he was gone, I was just fine.
Weird.
August 23
After the boy left, we got to work cleaning out his room so Ashlee could move in.
She chose a lovely shade of grey called Pewter something or another for three walls
and the fourth wall was something like "spring meadow"... aka... lime green.
It's pretty cool.
August 24
Justin moved into what was Cody's office, but is now the "whatever doesn't have a home" room.
It is now home to his mattress (he needs a new bed frame) and odds and ends.  He got rid of most of his toys, but kept a few around just for old times sake.
August 25
Our sunflowers are gigantic.   Like, insanely huge.  Like Jack and the beanstalk huge.
August 26
The husband was laying on the grass and said, "you should take a picture looking up this branch."
So I did.
August 27
She's all moved in and the first thing she does is put up a "do not disturb" sign.  What does she think this is?  A hotel?  Oh wait... it's Ashlee.  Of course, she does.
August 28
And then she broke her arm.
More about that in a post further down.
Poor baby girl.
August 29
So many tomatoes.
Holy cow.
August 30
Arilee painted her room "mylanta bottle blue" or "Sea Life" if you want to be specific.
Then she put up this quote, because she is SO stinking awesome.
August 31
All she wanted for her birthday was a frog.
And a frog she got.
Welcome to the family, Kermit.
September 1
We celebrated a day late so her brother could be here for the party.
Her cake was pretty simple as I had about five minutes to make it and she was giving orders instead of doing it herself like we usually do.  It's been a long couple of days with this demanding child... because in case you forgot... she broke her arm!
September 2
The boy happens to live like 12 steps from the tennis courts at BSU.  He went out and played the other day and it turns out... he's not very good.  So his dad took him to the courts to learn him a few things.  I think the only thing that was really taught was that... Ashlee has a broken arm and it's not FAIR that we get to do stuff  and she doesn't.  That and camera's work better with a memory card in them.  Thank goodness for iPhones.
