SOOC - Macro Monday - {it's a mystery}

My super cute husband surprised me this week with an early birthday present...

A MACRO lens for my camera!!! I love love love MACRO photography! It's a little different than the lenses I'm used to, so darn it, I have to play with a little (or a LOT) so I can get it all figured out. Like I'm going to complain. ;)

I've got a mystery for you... WHAT ARE THESE? They are growing on my potato plants (the purple ones)! I have never seen such a thing, nor has anyone else we asked, and we live in the heart of potato-ville!
And just a little bit of the MACRO I've been playing with... (when the husband and I aren't beating each other at Gin)...

what a perfect present for you :) those might be tomatillo's. I've also seen a weed that looks like that. It grows into an almost papery type pod with one pea like seed in it. If it is a tomatillo it will look like a green tomato with a papery husk. Sometimes the husk turns purple when the tomatillo is mature.

Those looks like brinjals to me, I've seen the small round brinjals in the market here. There's onother type which are much smaller than this, quiet bitter in taste, and used in Thai and Malaysian cooking.

I have had them in my garden before, they are not tomatillos, (remember I brought you those and they grow on plants more like a tomato). Actually a potato can get a seed pod. They don't really germinate. I don't know how or why I just know they do.

The first picture looks like small tomatoes ... and they are related to potatoes ;)

All of these macros are beautiful, but I especially like the shallow DoF in the Queen of Hearts photo!

Happy Macro Monday
