"S" is for Spring

This spring has been full of devastating natural disasters all over the country. I can hardly call these low temps, grey skies, rain, and too much wind a natural disaster, though, and for that, I am thankful.

However, our own little natural disaster is just beginning. Snow pack in the mountains has been extremely high this year and is just starting to melt. The Snake River is running over and wreaking havoc all through the valley. And it's just beginning.

My parents live not too far from the river, a "dry" channel of it runs right past their house. They shouldn't have to worry too much about flooding (knock on wood), but I know plenty of people who do... like my parents neighbors around the corner. Yikes.
In the meantime, here's what spring looks like in my neck of the woods....

Check it out.

hooray for spring! the lilacs have burst out today in my part of the world. Although it is still very cold and rainy--so unusual for a desert.

Floods can be scary. I trust everyone is safe and sound!
