Easter

Remember the days when the Easter Bunny would come bearing baskets of treats and toys and you'd spend hours coloring Easter eggs and even more hours scrubbing Easter egg dye off the counters? Yeah, my kids are so over it. We almost got away without coloring eggs this year, but the husband someone just had to go and remember at the last second.
What can I say? He's a pretty awesome dad. Even if he may have mixed the dye up wrong and all the eggs turned out wonky. He cleaned up.
I was all dressed and ready for church so I took pictures. Or I tried to. The girl had to fix her hair and the Ish, well, once the girl licked her, she ran off screaming and said she was never letting me take another picture again as long as she lived.
We had a beautiful Easter program at church, which was no doubt, made that much better by the beautiful song "Come unto Christ" by Sally DeFord that yours truly NAILED during sacrament meeting. Okay, there might have been one or two mistakes, but the really hard parts, I totally nailed. I was so happy, I think I floated back to my seat.
After church, we donned our shorts (well, the kids did, I am a complete and total wimp and wore long pants and a coat) and had an Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house. It was really strange doing it without even a trace of snow on the ground. Heat would have been a fun change, too.
And since the boy thinks he's too old to participate anymore (we made him hide some of the eggs, which he tried to get out of by whacking his elbow really hard on the wall, but we didn't let him off that easily), they changed it up and threw in some stickers and jewelry for the not so little girls. I totally scored in snagging this ring, it really compliments my diamond, don't you think?

I don't remember the last time I dyed eggs or went to an easter egg hunt. I spent the laying around with a break for church.
