The great white blizzard of the year ten...

The husband asked me if I've given up blogging. "You never post anything anymore!" he said. Unusual for me to go this long between posts, that is for sure, but the real truth is, nothing much has happened worth blogging about. Except the weather. And who wants to hear about the weather? Beats blogging about nothing, I guess.

Friday afternoon, the husband and the boy went out and raked/mowed massive amounts of leaves.

Massive. Amounts.

Saturday morning... this happened... (compliments of the boy who tried to take a picture of the golf ball sized snow flakes while the husband and I were off shopping).

By Sunday morning, we had this....
6:15 Monday morning, the school called a snow day. It all but takes a natural disaster to get a snow day around here. And I don't think we've ever had a snow day before Thanksgiving!

2:30 Monday afternoon, the school called again and said, "while we're at it, we might as well call off school on Tuesday, too, since it's a pain to bring the kids back for one day and all". Not to mention they were forecasting a blizzard for Tuesday.

Tuesday morning, the husband went out and shoveled the porch and plowed the driveway so the visiting teachers could come. He's so kind.

Now that is a lot of snow to blow around!

By noon, you couldn't even see out the windows.
And thus goes the great white blizzard of the year ten. Every road and highway going anywhere from here is closed. They've even told the snow plowers to go home. Luckily, I have nowhere to go. This is one of those moments when I'm grateful the inlaws live next door so I don't have to travel very far for my Thanksgiving dinner.

In the meantime...

I finished my blanket that I started last Christmas...

And I'm starting another one (not for me).
And just because I have nothing else to do and we're all board gamed and Wii'd out, I'm going to break my own personal rules about putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving and put up some Christmas decorations. Before Thanksgiving.
That is if I can convince the husband (who is taking an incliment weather day) to brave the storm and get the decorations out of the detached garage. Maybe after his nap, he says.

Be safe in your travels and have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

snowed in . . . well at least you're "in". We just caught the edge of the great blizzard of 2010. We have a skiff of snow, it's sunny but the wind is bitter cold.

Love the blanket!!!

Happy thanksgiving :)
