Last year, I thoroughly enjoyed following along on Chris and his "365" journey. I thought about joining him for about... two and a half seconds, even after reading his "tips". Are you kidding me? I can't even do a picture a day for a week, let alone a whole year. Not. Gonna. Happen.
So when my friend Mindy asked for people to join her on a "52 Photowalks" challenge, I did a little mini dance of joy and said "oh, oh, oh, I can DO this one!" I know Chris will forgive me for my lack of effort since he said he'd support me either way. Thanks! One decent picture a week I can do. Seven? Me thinks not.
Plus it gives me something to blog about on Sunday after church instead of taking a nap like I'd really like to do. I'd also like to go to sleep tonight at a reasonable hour, so blogging it is.
It's been a long two week vacation. I need another week of vacation from work just to catch up from the two weeks I spent with my kids. I did take advantage of my husbands offer to take the kids out and drag them around in the snow to clean a little house. I also snuck outside onto the front porch in my jammies and took a quick picture of the beautiful snow covered trees. One never knows about Idaho. This could be the first of many snowfalls... or the last.
The husband came home shortly without the kids and he asked me a couple of hours later if he ought to go find them and I said, "why?" I really do like them. Did I mention it had been a long two weeks? Anyway, they appeared shortly and begged me to come see what they'd been up to. I actually changed out of my jammies for this one, though.
I have this cute little neice that lives next door to me that has a horrible phobia of snow. Her mom has tried everything under the sun to get her to walk in the snow, and she would have no part of it. So as part of her efforts to entice her six year old, she decided to build an igloo. And my kids helped. They had snacks and used blue food coloring to brighten the joint up a bit. In the end... it worked. My six year old snow phobic neice went outside and not only did she walk in the snow for the first time EVER (seriously not kidding here), she threw snowballs and made a snowangel. Or so I'm told. I wasn't actually there. My house is clean, though.
Thanks, Mindy, for letting me come along on this photowalk, I just hope to find something out there that doesn't include snow. Stick around... it'll happen... in like... May...

What a fun igloo, and a great idea to get a little one to like the snow! I LOVE that first photo... gorgeous!
I loved following Chris's 365 too. And he did persuade me to try--maybe I'll chicken out and do your 52 photowalks, that's a good idea. I love your snow walk.
I'm snow phobic and I don't think an igloo will help.
But I love your pictures. I can look at the snow and say "pretty!" when I know I don't have to walk in it.
I may make in on a a 12 dare, onece a month for a whole year.
The only thing good about snow, is how beautiful it looks on trees, when freshly fallen. I don't blame you for not wanting to try this everyday thing -- and I'll be excited to watch your journey this year!
I like the raisins on top of the igloo -- nice touch!
