You capture - EXPRESSION

I hoped to get more "expression" photos for this weeks "You capture" challenge over at I should be folding laundry, but, it's been such a beautiful week, just be lucky I got this much done!

If there is one thing this kid is full of, it's expression. I especially love how her brow furrows up. I tell her all the time she's going to have permanent marks in her forehead from having this look on her face 23 hours (at least) a day. When she saw this picture, she demanded I delete it because she just KNEW I was going to blog about it just like her aunt Ruthie did of the pictures of her chewing on her toenails. I told her I wouldn't. I didn't promise, though.

BTW - there is a story behind this photo of a photo. Our school does spring photos every ding dong year and every ding dong year I never want them (I haven't ordered school photos since I bought my first digital camera in 2003) but they send them home anyhow so parents can "ooohh!" and "awe" over them (or in my case, the kid brings it home and says "but mom, it's ME, how can you not want photos of ME???") and hopefully you'll fork over that $30 to pay for them. Not me. Especially not this year. You can't tell, but the photo of her is blurry. Not to mention that we forgot it was picture day so she's not exactly looking her best (as if she ever is on a school day). So, I do the next best thing and take a picture of them with their picture so they can atleast pretend to have purchased those not so good school pictures.

That is a fantastic idea about taking their picture with the not wanted picture. That face, in my house, is when I start telling them their middle name is "pathetic". ;)

I love her pouty face. It's what one sees the most of. And it's okay to blog her sweet face. After all Aunt Ruthie did.

OUR school does this too! Annoying.

Love the shot you got though!

This made me laugh. I worked as a school photographer for a season and the 'owner' of the joint would always get on my case because I focused on every child. Then he told me his secret. Focus once in the morning, once after lunch and you are good for the day. If they pics come out bad, the parents will get retakes. I've never bought school photos since. I LOVE the expression. :)
