Product Review - Trex decking

Three years ago when we decided to build a front porch onto our house, we spent countless hours researching our options as far as quality versus cost, etc. In the end, we decided to go with the best - Trex decking. It would last far longer than we hoped to ever live in this house!

Three years later, this is what it looks like:

There is a lawsuit against the company going on right now. I have yet to convince the husband to join it since all we get out of it is more trex decking. Labor costs to have it replaced as well as any railing we'd have to replace - is not included. If we're going to replace the dang thing, I guaran-dang-tee ya, it won't be with Trex! The cheap Home Depot brand decking we put on the back porch four years ago - still as nice as the day we installed it.

If you are planning to build a deck or porch in the near future - buyer beware.

Mine is the same color, but I only have one piece that looks exactly like this!!!! My stairs up onto the deck have a little more wear too. We're disappointed too. This came with the house when we bought it so I don't think we have any recourse. But, I definately won't be recommending it. The board we have damage on has a lot of exposure because it's a rail on the side, the rest is mostly covered. I'm glad it's not where I'd walk, I'm afraid I'd fall through. Do you also have "wet" spots that seap up through it???

That's not okay! I'm so glad you wasted your money on them before we did!
