Give me your best shot... on photostory friday...

I went to a funeral this morning for a guy I never knew existed until about five days ago when my mother in law called to tell me he died. I brushed it off, thinking since I'd never heard his name, he obviously didn't mean a whole lot to my husband. Turns out, I was wrong. They'd been friends forever, and while they drifted apart in high school (he went with the partiers, and the husband went with the good kids), they still remained friends. It was a sad occassion, especially considering the circumstances of his death - he wasn't just drunk, he was also very pissed off at his 15 year old daughter - and his age - 38. His brother spoke at the funeral and reminded us that age doesn't really matter. When it's your time to go, it's your time to go, live your life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of what time you have because you never know when you will take your last breath.

It just keeps raining and raining and raining, intermixed with some snow and hail here and there. And the forecast for the next 10 days? More showers! In case mother nature hasn't noticed, we have an abundance of water right now and we are tired of her "tears".

Sorry to hear about your husbands friend. It is all the more heart breaking when they are young.

Your photo is very pretty. I hope the rains stop soon.

Those kind of reminders are hard for me...I'm sorry for your husband and his friend's family. What a difficult cross to bear.

Your photo though, is STUNNING.

That is a sad story. And to be mad to top it off.
Your picture is beautiful! I (unlike everyone else I think) love the rain, and am wishing it would rain more. We haven't gotten much down here. We haven't had snow for a couple months now. Idaho.

What a sad story, but how interesting to see how 2 lives can take such drasctically different roads.

Your photo is stunning. I love the water droplets

Sad. :( The picture is so stunning, and fits the feel of the blog post... the rain.

I went to a funeral a couple of years ago for a guy I didn't know all that well, I knew his family, but he was a drunk and spent half of his adult life behind bars. I thought he was a horrible man, and then I learned about who he had been before the boose had taking over his life. Oh how sad it is when we let vises take over. It brought me sorrow for him and his family when I thought of what could have been.
