The Landmine Wedge Course...

My 15 year old son is on the high school golf team. He's a tad obsessed with the game and despite his practically flawless short game, he spends countless hours perfecting it regardless (now if he could only figure out his long game!). So... he created a course in the yard, which he dubbed the "Landmine Wedge Course" since it takes place where the lovely dogs leave all their precious "landmines" for us.

This game takes skill. And boat loads of attention so you don't accidentally step on a landmine!

Hole one - begins just outside our backdoor to the stop and waste in grandma's back yard.
Hole two - from the stop and waste to the "George of the Jungle" tree.
Hole three - from the "George of the Jungle" tree to the big maple tree in our front yard.
Hole four - from the big maple tree to my sister in laws last Aspen Tree
Hole five - from the Aspen tree to grandma's first maple tree in her front yard...
Which is a lay-up shot through the front pasture.
Hole six - a tricky shot as the "pin" is actually the clothesline behind grandma's house, which means a dogleg right shot so as not to break any windows at grandma's house.
Hole seven - from the clothesline to the Poplar tree behind grandma's house.
Hole eight - from the poplar tree to the maple tree next to the stop and waste from hole one.
Which calls for a pause to just to see how much hitting a ball out of a pile of gravel scuffs up your 58 degree wedge.
Hole nine - From the maple tree to the basketball next to the front step. And if you happen to be a cocky husband, you prove to your wife that you can bounce it off the roof while she freaks out about just how your going to explain that broken window to the insurance adjuster.
Then you thank your lucky stars that he is a good shot while reminding the teenage boy he is not to EVER try the same stunt if he wants to ever live to be 16.
Oh wait, but that's not all. There is one more important wedge shot to be made - when the smart-alec husband who tries to make his last shot be the final one ever as he aims for the photographer. Thanks babe!
