Karma has a funny smell...

A few weeks ago, Ishee came home and said she'd volunteered me to come volunteer in her classroom. Woopee. Well, the first week came and well, I forgot. But that was okay, because so did she. Besides, one of the other mom's who also got volunteered can only come on Wednesday so I need to switch to a new day. My new day, Friday, came and Ishee was all excited only to find out that her mom was feeling ill and wasn't going to make it.

So this Friday was coming along and well, I was dreading it. I volunteered all during kindergarten and first grade and I loved every minute of it, but this year, the "love" just hasn't hit me. And then it did hit me, but not how you'd think. I had a grand thought... if I could just convince one of my kids to be sick on Friday, then I wouldn't have to go in. This week anyway. Perfect plan!

I did a bang up job.

Ishee started complaining of a tummy ache before bed. I popped some pepto in her mouth and sent her to bed. The past few months, my hormones get all out of whack at certain times of the month and I have vivid and wierd dreams, and lately, hot flashes all night long, resulting in a severe lack of sleep. Last night I dreamt about digital scrapping. I dreamt that I visited a friend's house in Texas and all the walls were painted pepto bismol pink. Then I dreamt that my husband burned our house down after deciding it was unfit to live in. The rest of the night, I was pretty much awake, just laying there watching the clock.

When it was time to go wake up the kids, I asked Ishee how she was feeling and she gave me a funny look and pointed at the floor. Um, ewwwww.... she'd thrown up all night long. She has such a knack for hitting the side of her bed and carpet just right. I guess that explained the dream about burning the house down. It's awful tempting this morning. Lets just hope she doesn't decide to stop eating for the next two weeks and lose five pounds like she did the last time she pulled this little stunt of hers.

I figure this is what I get for trying to get out of volunteering at the school. Or maybe it's just a grand start to yet another Friday the 13th? I'm going with karma. And boy, does it stink!!!

I'd rather be awakened in the night than find dried up puke. And we know how I love my beauty sleep!

By the way, my walls are brown, blue and green, so feel free to visit.

I hate, hate cleaning up puke. I don't think wanting to get out of volunteering even comes close to deserving that job. Sorry.

Funny dreams, though. I'm glad Kelly has better taste than that:)
