It's been a productive week for me, which as of late, is a really rare thing. I cleaned out my food storage room (sorry, didn't take a picture) and went through all my food, a lot of which was nearly 10 years old (threw a lot out) and made a mental note of things I need to buy to replace it, and what I don't want to buy since we obviously don't eat it.
Then I reorganized some of my kitchen cabinets that also had some food storage items and moved it to the pantry where I could see it better, and hopefully use it before it expires. Sure makes me feel better to be able to see just what I have on hand just in case I should ever need to rely on it.

Wednesday, my husband boarded a jet plane for Seattle and I decided to do what I always do during his spring meetings... paint something. Since we redid the color scheme in the bedroom and remodeled the bathroom, I have been wanting to repaint my bedroom. It's so hard to do it when my husband is around, the fumes bother him, and the mess it creates bothers him even more. So, I do it when he's away on business. At least this time, he knew I was doing it. This is before... the taupey caramely color on the wall, I used to love it, but now... not so much... especially since it really didn't match the new colors...

The new color, it's called "toasty grey" from Home Depot.

Now, I have a few decisions to make. I need a headboard. My husband has zero use for headboards. I bought materials to make a shelf that is as wide as the bed, and hope I can convince the husband to put it together for me (he'll be so not thrilled) for a makeshift headboard that really isn't a headboard at all. I also have a diamond shaped wrought iron scrolly thingamajig to hang, as well as my collection of daisy pictures and a picture of the Rexburg temple. But where? Do I hang the drapes back up and turn my room back into a dungeon or do something else? Do I leave the cedar chest against the wall where the husband won't trip on it during his 4 a.m. restroom excursions or put it back at the foot of the bed where it's been for the last 8 years? Decisions, decisions! Suggestions??

Finally, there was the girls bedroom.... the pit of despair, the bane of my existence... before...

and after... I'm so not productive enough this week to clean it, too. They cleaned it themselves! Can you tell? Is it that obvious??? Their cleaning skills leave a lot to be desired if I do say so myself, don't ya think? *sigh* Maybe next week.

What have you done in the way of productivity this week?

Ooh, pretty pantry, all clean and organized! I have to laugh about the girls' room, because yeah, when I tell my girls to clean their room, it usually involves shoving everything that was on the floor into the closet and under the beds. Nice. Argh!
P.S. the only recommendation I have for your headboard ideas is, don't hang anything heavy on the wall over your bed, where it can fall off during an earthquake and brain you! That's the sum total of my decor advice, lol.
A pantry like that gives me goosebumps. Makes me proud.
