The first day of school...
We found "Cody" in the boys closet of all screwy places. Still wondering how the boy never noticed it, though we have since concluded how it got there. Silly girl.
I found the middle childs brand new and instantly lost in June's flip-flop under the freezer when I cleaned the laundry room. (hey, Charm... did you look there for Cannon's lost flip-flop?)
My extremely "anal about his hair" husband made ME give him a haircut! I'm still shaking. He thinks I just need more practice. I don't think I get paid enough for this kind of stress.
Paypal made me screw up my checking account! I'm blaming the haircut.
We're debating drawing straws to see which of us has to climb into the nice cold swimming pool and pull the plug. I may have to use the old standby: "which one of you wants to be my favorite child?" Maybe tomorrow.
The bus finally brought home my oldest children... at 5:30... thanks to a screwy new school and bus schedule. WHAT THE HECK?
The middle child wants to quit piano lessons... I am begrudginly letting her. *sigh* I can already hear her in 15 years asking "why did you let me quit?"
The Americans lost TWO relay races when they dropped the batons? Another American dove across the finish line for the bronze in the 400M? Really?!? Has BMX racing always been an olympic sport?
The kids had a wonderful first day of school (despite the nearly two hour bus ride) ...
*new best friends,
*blushing over boat loads of cute girls,
*no forgotten locker combinations,
*no tardy's,
*interesting old teachers who once taught me in junior high,
*and only one homework assignment to write your life story in a minimum of 250 words for a boy who claims he only has lived a 25 word life.
Here's to a few hours of peace a quiet every day and a hope that not every day is as exciting as the first...

I love the 25 word life boy. That is so boy!
That is one whacky day. They'll get more evened out, hopefully.
The important thing is the oldest did come home and in one piece. You found "cody" and the flip-flops, and I am sure plenty of dust bunnies. Charge him for the haircuts, see how long that lasts. And it's okay for your little ones to have the same teachers as you did. One of my former ones finally retired three years ago. He must have been ancient by then.
Send boy over, I know more than 250 words about him. I can help him cheat on the paper.
