**I narrowed it down... fair pictures that is... go here to see the before and after shots so you can see just how photoshopped they are... feel free to express an opinion as to my choices. One of my sisters is also entering some beautiful flower shots (she raises beautiful flowers, I just take good pictures), so I have some stiff competition (good thing this is a dinky county fair, eh?)! I get to enter two in each category, which are: Landscape/water/sunrise/sunset/snow... portrait... still life... animals... flowers... (there are more categories, these are just the ones I'm entering) so I still have to make a couple of FINAL decisions... HELP!
**Ishee is turning eight in a month and I stupidly agreed a long long time ago to let my children have birthday parties when they turn eight. She is very disgruntled at the fact that her party is not yet planned, the invites not sent out, and the time is not yet written in pen on the calendar as to when we leave for the mall to get her ears pierced. She is SO excited!!! It's going to be a long month!
**They asked me midway during sacrament meeting to substitute for the suddenly ill primary pianist yesterday. I agreed, despite not having sat at the piano since I was released in January. One of our cute sunbeams gave a talk that ended with: "you should never fill your swimming pool up in the church because it will ruin the carpet." (She said that like she had experience, too... LOL) Almost made me miss primary. Almost.
**The husband and the boy are building a kayak. I don't know why. Lets just hope I have nothing tragic to report in a few weeks when he may or may not be taking that kayak down the South Fork of the Snake River with the rest of his scout troop. His scout leader assures us that all will be well, as if people aren't injured doing this very thing on a weekly basis, but I'm beginning to wonder if his scout leader has ever seen the South Fork of the Snake River or listened to the news. We're still debating on whether or not to let him go and in the meantime, they are still building that stupid kayak... just in case. Pictures to come soon.
**We found six more fry this weekend. We decided to let them take their chances on survival in the big tank. Like we need any more fish! The other fry we have rescued are getting HUGE and I will soon have more fish than room!
**My beans and peas and zucchini are on full swing right now and I'm darn good and sick of them already. I may get brave and make some dilly beans this year (reminds me, sister dear, if you read this, and I know you will... I need your recipe). I really don't know what else to do with all the beans! Any and all suggestions are more than welcome!

I was telling dh about your kayak thing, expecting him agree that it was stupid and dangerous to go over rapids in a homemade kayak. Instead, he told me about the kayaks his brothers built and took down that river many times. Apparently they still have them, they're very sturdy, and it's not strange at all. Huh. So there ya go, maybe your scoutmaster isn't on crack.
Mrs. Wages Kosher pickle mix. If you can't find let me know I may have an extra at my house.
Mmm, going out in the garden and plucking the pea pods and eating them right there. That says childhood for me. Now I don't eat peas, blech. But raw from the garden, yum!
What's Ishee's party theme. I'm totally your girl. I'll work you up a whole outline with to do lists and plans. Planning a bday party is the happiest thing on earth for me. And go figure, my kids usually don't want any big to do. How does this happen?
We don't do b-day parties every year. Only special years. I've convinced my kids that the 8th birthday special is being baptized. The biggest problem is when everyone's party years are all in the same year. It breaks me.
Ishee is awesome. You need to get on board with the important things, mom!
My Maren was planning her 7th birthday party the second her 5th party was over. It's a little sickening.
For pictures my favories were the first shot of the flower AFTER... and the horse shot where the horse is staring straight at the camera AFTER.
My peas were not good ones this year. I just bought a big pack of them at IFA and I think they were suppose to be picked as little pods because once they got big they were so bitter! I ended up letting the chickens have most of them. So far all I have are tomatoes and cucumbers. My beans didn't really come up this year. It was most likely the cats that made sure that happened!
