Despite my BEST efforts... the asparagus thiefs are winning the asparagus battle this year. I haven't seen them personally... but my inlaws have and told me they exist. That really explains the lack of asparagus this year.
Seriously... my husband was out watching his dad irrigate, and he noticed a whole lot of asparagus. Instead of picking it himself right then, he came to the house and said "you need to pick the asparagus". I told him I would go out after church, since I was in my church clothes, and guess what happened in that three hours? Yep... it's all gone.
Personally, I'm blaming the dog who is getting to old to even bark at them anymore. Darn her...

Totally like Lisa's idea about the new sign. I'm thinking some people know when you are at church. I just can't believe the gall of people. Maybe you could leave a collection bucket or something... (like you'd get anything in it, but maybe it will make someone/anyone think twice. Maybe.
