The loss of a friend...

Last night, just as we were about to sing "Happy Birthday" to my son, tragedy struck. My dearest and bestest friend slipped ever so tragically off the kitchen counter, falling head first on the hard floor below. It suffered a severe head trauma that left it's innards gaping open, and the top of it's head barely hanging on. I was DEVESTATED!!!

I use my best friend EVERY.SINGLE.DAY! And now... who knows if it will survive the operation that it will require to repair it. I can only hope so. I'm taking it in today to find out if it can be saved, so wish me luck.

In the meantime... enjoy one of the last decent things it did for me (which isn't all that decent but I jsut don't have it in me to do any photoshopping today)... take this picture...

Shortly after my camera fell to it's demise and we sang Happy Birthday, my wonderful almost perfect child turned into a teenager and hasn't yet snapped out of it. I don't know what happened, but WOW! I don't like it. It wasn't he who got dropped on his head last night, but he is sure acting like it. *sniff*

Uh huh, boy childs. We are entering a whole new realm.

Don't scare me so bad about the friend. I mean it is sad, but boy did my stomach sink in the beginning. Then I kept trying to picture your best friend sitting on your kitchen counter and falling and her brains spilling out during a birthday party. I was thinking tragic, yes. Yet embarrassing, you shouldn't sit on your friend's counters. And gross! Brains?!

i'm so sad for you!! I hope it 'survives the operation'. :) Cute comparison, but that IS what it feels like. I feel like mine needs a funeral service.

Can I ask you what type of camera you use? I am desperately reviewing different Canon A-series. I need to know how the built in macro is on it though since that is my favorite type of photo to shoot. I'm all lost and confused! I think I might just cry!!

Keep us all updated on your camera's health. Best wishes. :o|

That cake looks so good - your camera did a good job of making it look good. I hope it doesn't stay in it's vegitative state too long, I need to see more pictures of cakes like that...yumma!

Hope your boy had a happy birthday regardless of the tragic accident...or WAS it? I wonder if maybe there was a conspiracy behind it? I'll do some research and get back to you.

Jayci, this is my camera: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Cybershot-Digital-Optical-Stabilization/dp/B000ENTFDG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1205353775&sr=8-1 (though I didn't pay that much). It does a pretty good job of macro, but I know other camera's are better. I know there is a Canon one that is really good for macro! Good luck finding one!

I've already mourned the demise of your camera, but dang it, that cake made me drool all over my keyboard!
